El desconsolado llanto de May durante su discurso de renuncia.

Lo intentó en tres ocasiones. Falló en todas y finalmente tomó la decisión de dimitir como Primera Ministra. El “Brexit” fue el punto final en el mandato de Theresa May en Gran Bretaña.

Este viernes, con un llanto visible, anunció que dejará el cargo en dos semanas más. El 7 de junio, en consecuencia, comenzará la búsqueda del nuevo líder del Partido Conservador.

Solo hay un candidato para ser su sucesor: Boris Johnson, quien fuera alcalde de Londres entre 2008 y 2016 y ministro de Relaciones Exteriores hasta el año pasado.

May, de todos modos, liderará la visita de Estado que realizará Donald Trump a comienzos de junio. El Presidente de Estados Unidos estará en Inglaterra entre el 3 y 5 del mes que viene.

De lo que no se salvó Theresa May fue de las severas críticas en redes sociales por parte de los británicos, quienes la llegaron a calificar como “su peor Primera Ministra de la historia”.
